Biltmore Bachelorette

28 August 2015
Stereotypically, bachelorette parties happen in Vegas, Miami, Charleston, etc. Not mine! It's great to go out and party with your girlfriends to celebrate your upcoming commitment, however I preferred something a bit more low key. I had friends joining in from all over the East Coast, and I wanted to feel like I was truly spending time with all of them, so we landed on Asheville.

Luckily, Asheville is only two hours away from Charlotte, so it was easy enough to scoop people from the airport and head on over to cooler temps fairly quickly. We spent the evening catching up, dining out at Storm Rhum Bar & Bistro and having a few (maybe one too many) glasses of vino and champagne.

The next day, we headed out for Tupelo Honey Cafe and the Biltmore Estate.

We weren't supposed to take pictures in the house, but we spent some time in the garden in awe of the beautiful colors and smells, and doing mini-photoshoots. After, we moseyed down to Antler Hill Village & Winery where we had a complimentary wine tasting and picked up some souvenirs (ahem, more delicious wine).

The 250-room home built in 1895 is absolutely breathtaking. It's so intriguing to imagine actually living in the space instead of touring. When I go back, I'd love to do the Rooftop and Servants tours as well as rent bikes or tour the property on a Segway. I could easily spend a long weekend there without even leaving the property.
